The most common reasons for failure
The caravan is classified as a trailer, and it should be easy to get a WOF. The WOF inspector will check the usual things like brakes, lights, tyres, etc. What most people don't realise is that the caravan floor is now considered part of the vehicle structure, and that if it's soft or shows signs of decay, the caravan will fail. The suspension should also be checked, but it is mostly ignored until it is too late, and the chassis rails start cracking due to inadequate flex in the suspension system.

Ways to avoid this from happening

Failed WOF
Don't worry, if the vehicle has failed, we can assess the damage for you. In some cases, the costs will be covered by insurance; this depends very much on the type of policy you have. Read the small print or come and see us for an assessment; we can usually tell you if the costs will be covered by insurance.
Note of caution:
Please note that if we need to repair the floor or suspension, your vehicle will be off the road for an extended period. We are usually booked up for at least a month, and if the work is being paid for by insurance, it must be assessed and approved first. This takes time.
