Vantage RV is a well-known motorhome build and repair company based in Silverdale.

Can you turn your hand to just about any technical problem?

We are looking for people who is creative, quick, capable, and versatile. People who like to get into tricky problems and come up with practical solutions.
Ideally, you will be skilled in an engineering or similar discipline, there is no need for a formal NZ qualification but solid work experience in custom manufacturing and repair work would be good. We solve problems related to motorhome and caravan issues, such as the fitting of tanks and accessories, which can involve custom-making and welding steel or aluminum frames or brackets, running the plumbing and connecting up, custom making parts from timber or exotic materials, using resins, removing and refitting chassis components, installing awnings, bike racks, satellite dishes, roof lights, fitting solar systems, rebuilding caravan axles and much more.

In this varied role, the appointee will be responsible for carrying out repairs and alterations to caravans and motorhomes. We do not expect to find someone with all the skills we require but working as part of a team you will be someone who learns quickly to do a very wide variety of fitting and custom work.

You will be part of a supportive team of experienced technicians working in a well-equipped workshop.
We work on such a wide variety of vehicles every day that it will bring new and interesting challenges on a daily basis.
After initial training, you will be trusted to solve problems and think for yourself.

You will have good interpersonal skills and you will be willing to continually improve your workmanship and skill base to get pride in your work and get the job done to the highest standards possible.

The right candidate will be joining a growing company who encourages and helps develop its employees. You will be able to follow the NEW ZEALAND CERTIFICATE IN COACHBUILDING course which will be sponsored by us, currently taken up to level 3 in the first year and level 4 in the second year

Ideally, we are looking for someone who has had some form of skills-based training and can show a track record of custom manufacturing in the past, where they have learned to become very good with their hands, someone who can make and fix things independently and is proud of the result.
