What you will need to install these brackets
You will need the following: (not supplied):
- An awning Fiamma or Thule up to 4m over 4m will require 2x the above kit.
- A sealant such as., Sikaflex 291 or Fix-All high tack
- A set of spanners and Allen keys.
- A set of Drills and drivers.
- Cleaning products.
- Tape measure.
- Whiteboard marker.
- Straight edge,
Start by:
- Opening your Fiamma/ Thule awning and checking the recommended location of the mounting brackets
Usually mounted immediately behind the arm of the awning - Mark the locations of these mounting points on your vehicle using a whiteboard marker
- Ensure all three mounting points are on the straight part of the gutter. If the vehicle's gutter has more than 5mm of curvature, the brackets will need to be packed or modified.
- Insert the flange nuts into the main support bracket as shown in the picture on the left, then install the black rubber trim on both the clamp and the support bracket. A small piece of Sellotape might help keep the nuts in place during assembly, and a small amount of superglue on the rubber.

- We recommend fitting the brackets supplied by the awning manufacturer before installing this awning adapter bracket on the van, as it has multiple holes that allow various awning bracket brands to be bolted on. Please match up the appropriate holes for your awning brand. There are two holes in the centre of the adaptor bracket designed for additional fastenings through the awning bracket. Use these if you are not bonding the awning bracket to the adaptor bracket. Assemble the body and the clap bracket on the gutter as shown below, and confirm that the sliding/ front door easily clears the
bracket when opening and closing

- The bolt-on perforated top brace can now be bent to the angle required for your vehicle

- Measure from the vertical adaptor bracket to the wall/roof of the van and mark the closest hole and slot at which you plan to bend the perforated top brace.
- Bend the bracket on the marked line to a suitable angle that matches your roof slope. This angle should be set correctly the first time; multiple bend adjustments will weaken the alloy and lead to fatigue. The bend should be at an angle less than 90 degrees; the angle may vary depending on the bracket's location on the vehicle. Use a variable bevel tool to establish the angles on the various points of the roof
- Once you have bent all the top braces, you can cut any that are too long. In your case, if you are cutting it, leave at least 2 rows of holes as a mounting footprint
- Once this has been done for all 3 brackets, bolt the
upper bracket on using the supplied M6 bolts and washers
and NY lock nuts, leaving them slightly loose for the time
being. - Using a straight edge, such as a long alloy tube or by eye, from either end, line up all 3 brackets,
making sure they are true and in line with one another, and roughly plumb or on the same angle

- Apply a sealant such as Sikaflex 291 and pop rivet / tek screw the centre top brace into place with 4 fixtures per bracket
- Once the centre bracket is fully secured, the awning can be hung. This will help with the alignment process: eyeball the awning's length to ensure it is straight, then repeat the bonding and fixing of the front and rear braces.
- Finally, tighten up the M6 bolts and check that the adaptor brackets are all 3 still in line. You can now final fit the awning on the brackets
- Do not drive the vehicle until the adhesive has properly cured
