You can leave your AC laptop charger at home and just plug this DC-DC charger into a cigarette lighter socket, be sure to select the correct voltage for your particular brand of laptop and charge it from your house battery solar system or alternator.
Laptops are supplied with a factory AC 240-volt charge pack that plugs into mains power and charges the battery. Most laptops are designed to charge at 19 volts, however, different brands will have different charge voltages, so it is very IMPORTANT to check the charge pack and the rear of the laptop to be sure you select the correct voltage specific to your machine. We advise that you put some tape over the selector switch so that the voltage cannot easily be unselected to another voltage.
