Problems with a faulty caravan suspension?

Transform your old caravan with this bolt-on galvanised leaf suspension axle kit. It replaces the standard ALKO suspension with a more robust trailer leaf-spring suspension that absorbs road impacts in a traditional way.

Forget about the condition of your original ALKO axle; this unit will replace the old and bolt onto the existing caravan chassis rails.

Ideal for older caravans, it can be fitted as a DIY unit, though we recommend it be fitted by a professional, as you will be towing it at speed on the road.
If in doubt, our technicians can inspect your suspension for hidden wear, size, damage, etc., and advise on the best approach in your particular case.

The Solution

We’ve engineered a custom solution to upgrade European caravan suspensions, making them tough enough to withstand harsh NZ road conditions. Our latest upgrade replaces the entire ALKO suspension with a heavy-duty leaf spring system, significantly improving towing stability, tracking, and highway handling.

How It Works 

The process is straightforward. Simply remove the existing axle and send it back to us for a refund. We will send you a solid, galvanised steel chassis frame that bolts directly on.

  • What's included: The frame is designed to receive the new leaf springs, axle system, hubs, bearings, and brakes.

  • Seamless integration: All components connect seamlessly to the existing handbrake and hitch via the existing cables.

  • WOF Ready: Because all the components are brand new, you’ll have no WOF issues or comebacks when installed correctly.

Why is this a good option?

New Zealand doesn’t have smooth Autobahns, and Kiwis strongly prefer leaf spring setups over Duratorq systems. This upgrade ensures towing is smoother because the suspension absorbs road shock more effectively. It is a solid, trouble-free solution built specifically to cope with our potholed roads.

Things to be aware of!!

If your caravan has been towed for some time with a poor suspension, you may have already damaged the existing structure.
By structure, we include the interior cabinets and furniture, which are part of its structure.
The furniture consists of floor-to-ceiling bulkheads. Attached to cabinets that sit on the chassis rails, this all forms part of the overall caravan structure
Please ensure that the interior components are well connected to the walls, floor and ceiling. Otherwise, the vehicle will continue to deteriorate even after the suspension has been replaced. Do not try to reattach the bulkheads and cabinets if the caravan is not fully supported in its original factory state on level ground with the suspension in place.
